Jamileh Mansour Samaan (Tata Jamileh) departed to the Lord on July 6, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL. She was reunited with her husband after 61 years. Jamileh was born in Ramallah, Palestine on October 25, 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elias Salem Samaan, and two grandchildren, Eddie Farhat and Pam (Khoury) Ajlouny and her brothers, Essa, Jack, Aziz, and David Mansour, sisters, Fareeda Khamis and Nimeh Khoury. She is survived by her five children: Jeanette Farhat (Ziadeh) of Jacksonville, Azmi Samaan (Vicky) of Jacksonville, Samira Ayyash (the late Khalil) of Northville, MI, Said Samaan (Samira) of Jacksonville, and Wisam Khoury (Butros) of Northville, MI; brother, Khalil Mansur and sisters, Jalileh Mansur and Norma Hanania and 18 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Jamileh was an active member of the St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church for over 40 years. She was also a long time member of the Ramallah American Club of Jacksonville. She was very proud of her heritage and instilled these values in her entire family. Tata, as she was better known, was a selfless and giving human being who always put the needs of everyone before her own and took great delight in all children. She will always be remembered for her kind words and warm heart.
The viewing will be held on Monday July 9 from 6 PM- 7PM followed by the Trisagion at 7pm at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church on Bowden Road.
