James William Wallace (Bill), passed away Monday, August 14, 2023 after a brave battle of 3 years with cancer. Bill was born December 11, 1954 at Baptist Hospital and lived his entire life in Jacksonville, Florida.
From the moment he was diagnosed with cancer, he chose to live life to the fullest. He remained optimistic and courageous throughout his fight with this brutal disease. Bill worked in the plumbing and AC industry for forty eight years. He started his career at Noland Company and went on to work for North Florida HVAC a company that is family owned. Bill’s life was based on his love for family, friends, respect, loyalty and honesty.
Bill and the love of his life, June were high school sweethearts. They were married for 48 years. He was a loving and devoted Dad to J.L. his son and Renee his daughter. He attended every baseball, football and soccer game and was J.L.’s biggest fan. Renee cheered and danced and he never missed a competition or recital. He adored his children and was so proud of them. He loved his daughter-in-law Crystal and son-in-law Dustin as if they were his own. Bill was the best and most loving Papa to Logan, Shelby and Kensie. They were the joy in his life and spending time with them was something he cherished.
Bill is survived by his wife June of 48 years. Son J. L. Wallace (Crystal) daughter Renee Wickham (Dustin) Grandchildren Logan Wallace, Shelby Wickham and Kensie Wickham, nephew Chris Tomberlin (Sandy) Nieces Nicole Glasgow (Jake) Kimberly Mayo (Mason) special sister-in-law Kim Newbern. Nieces Joy Rutledge (Randy) Great nieces Brinley Glasgow, Sophia Davies. Great Nephews Tucker, Ryker, Talmaye and Ripkin Tomerlin Brody and Briggs Glasgow Maverick Mayo. We are forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our treasured friends, Eddie and Debbie Mims, Joe and Sherry Jenkins, Charlie and Nancy Anderson, Chris Hart, Dawn Wickham, Eddie Essa, Jim Sever, Ron, Vivi and Noah, Elton and Maria, Samantha Kirby, Diane Camden.
