Jim graduated from Paxon High School (in Jacksonville, Florida) in 1969.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mei Sen Silvia; children, Yu Ling Johnston, James Edward Stokes and Darrell Lee Stokes; two grandsons, Joseph Ryan Johnston and Benjamin Eugene Johnston; and one great-grandson, Logan Eugene Johnston; three sisters, Marilyn Ann Eden, Patricia Joyce Biegel and Sandra Faye Jones; and a younger brother, Randel Wayne Stokes.
Preceded in death by his older brother, D. Ray Stokes.
A visitation for James will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Riverside Memorial Park.
