James Gregory Reddish, 62, went home to ne with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 3, 2011. Gregory was born in Valdosta, Georgia on December 20, 1948 to Jams and Betty Reddish. He was the first of seven children. He was raised in Starke, Florida and graduated from Bradford County High School in 1967. A gifted athlete, he excelled in every sport available to him. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Marines Corps where he courageously served three tours in Vietnam. He was stationed in A3, Camp Carol, Quang Tri and Hue City with 3rd Marine Division 3rd Battalion in Kilo Company. He received 3 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star when he charged and disabled a machine gun nest in Hue City during the Tet offensive. Greg received Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Ander Crenshaw in November 2009. Greg believed once a Marine, always a Marine and his pride knew no boundaries when his only son followed in his footsteps. He loved the Gators, the Tampa Bay Rays, fishing with his brother, country music, dancing, cook-outs and traveling. He could build or fix anything. His big hands were loving, Protective and kind. Greg is preceded in heaven by his father, brothers Tim and Jim Reddish and his beloved mother. He fathered three children and was a stepfather to four. He is survived by his children; Darian Gregory Reddish (Veronica), Molly Lea Hampton (Chris), Jennifer Ann Hudak and grandchildren; Darian G. Reddish Jr., Austin, Ava, Marina, Miles, Manny, Alden and Alavra. He also leaves behind his wife, Bonnee and Step children; Bill Pratt (Julia), J. Broward Carlton II, Rebekah S. Wotton (Mike), Matthew P. Carlton and step grandchildren; Emma, Abigail, Joey, Jacob and Gabriel. The Reddish Family will receive friends at 10 am Thursday, July 14, 2011 Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Avenue Funeral Home A Memorial Service will be held at 12 pm in the chapel with Pastor Wilford McCormick as Officiant.
