James “Jimmy” DeLoach, age 73, passed away Wednesday October 10, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Batesburg, South Carolina on December 24, 1944. He married Nadine DeLoach (Moorhead) on August 10, 1962.
Jimmy always wanted to join the United States Navy when he was younger as he watched his older brothers serve. He was very proud of his long career with the Navy and retired with 30 years of service as a Master Chief Aviation Storekeeper. Jimmy and his family enjoyed military life. They saw each new duty station as a new experience and a great adventure. Above all, the most important thing to Jimmy was his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Nadine DeLoach, his sons James DeLoach Jr. (Jin) and Jeffrey DeLoach, his daughters, Cynthia Crumpton (Wayne) and Kathy Dunlap (Ray), his grandchildren, Scott DeLoach, Jamey Garris (Ethan), Jessica Hogan (Zarek), Christopher Dunlap, and Lexy Crumpton, and his sisters, Wilma “Dolly” Hook and Frances Beard. Jimmy was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Hook, and his brothers, Judson “Buck” DeLoach, Samuel “Sammy” DeLoach, William “Loach” DeLoach, and Henry “Cooter” DeLoach. Jimmy is dearly loved by his family and he will be greatly missed.
A Viewing will be held at 1:00pm, followed by the Funeral Service with Military Honors at 2:00pm, and will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32207.
