James “Bob” Robert Bradford was born June 28, 1935 in Baxter, Tennessee to the late Joseph Bradford and Elva Dyer Bradford. He died peacefully Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Baptist Medical Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida with his loving wife and four daughters by his side.
He served in the U.S. Naval Force for 20 years and served in Vietnam. His years in the Navy allowed him to travel the world and it was in Rota, Spain that he met his beautiful wife Rosa. They were married in Sevilla, Spain and had four daughters. In 1975, he retired from the Navy in Jacksonville, FL and continued his career in Civil Service, which led him to locations in Alaska, Hungary, Afghanistan, and Turkey.
Bob was a devoted husband and father. He was a hard worker and provided a wonderful life for his wife and children. A life that allowed them to live and visit new cultures all over the world, including Morocco where his two oldest daughters began elementary school. Spain where two of his daughters were born and Alaska where his youngest daughter attended school and dance. But his roots were always in Tennessee, where he was born and raised in the country with a loving mother and many siblings.
Survivors are wife of 58 years Rosa Diaz Bradford of Sevilla, Spain, Daughter and Son-In-Law Elva and David Blankenship, Daughter Yolanda Moayedi, Daughter and Son-In-Law Pamela & Travis Schwarz, Daughter Raquel Bradford, Sister Geneva Haller, Eight Grandchildren: Jayson & Joshua VanDenEinde, Andrew & Adam Blankenship, Sydney Brogle, Zoe & Xavier Schwarz, and Leila Moayedi; and Great-Grandson Easton VanDenEinde.
A Service of Remembrance:
A cherished family farewell was held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
A formal Inurnment Military Honors Service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. Entrance through the main gate, follow arrows to the site.
