Jacqueline Decuir Owens

(1949-2016)

Jackie Owens, 66, passed away on Saturday, April 16th at her Jacksonville home with her family by her side. Jackie was born July 24, 1949 in New Iberia, LA. She retired from O'Charley's after many years of dedicated service. The many lives she touched with her generosity and witty personality is not measured by numbers but by the relationships built and the wisdom she shared.

Jackie is survived by her 3 children, Kim Morgan, Robert Cole (Cassidy), Buddy Owens (Tammy). Additionally, the delight of her heart were here 5 grandchildren , Brandon King, Llandon Morgan, Chase Owens, Addison Owens and Eystin Owens. She was like a mother to Dart Bransby and Grandma to Nikki Matos and Kristen Smith. While her loving presence will be dearly missed, our hearts are filled to overflowing with a lifetime of her love and memories.

After Jackie s recent diagnosis she gave up driving and began riding a tricycle. She rode miles around the Atlantic Blvd., Hodges and Kernan areas. People used to post Jackie sightings on FB as she rode through their neighborhoods being an inspiration to all that saw her. Our comfort is that her legs will never grow tired or weary in heaven and the wheels on her bike will turn forever to eternity. Jackie leaves us with her legacy of loving care and her family and many friends will miss her beyond measure, but Jackie will never be forgotten.

A celebration of her life will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday April 21st at Chapel Hills, 850 St. John's Bluff Rd. Jacksonville FL.
