Irene Mary Brown Marsh

Irene Mary Brown Marsh age 78, passed from this life April 20, 2013. Irene the daughter of Thomas and Jean Brown, sister to Margaret Brown, Tom Brown and Edna Bryan was born on October 10, 1934 in Glasgow Scotland, but she has called Jacksonville Home for the past 52 years. Irene retired after a 25 year career with CSX Railroad. She raised 4 children, and often enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included bowling, dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, and miniature golf. Irene is survived by her daughters Kim Marsh (Gordon), Dawn Marsh (Donald), her sons William Marsh III and Eric Marsh (Sonya). Irene is further survived by her sister Edna, brother Tom, her grandchildren Josh, Holly and Ryan Marsh, her former husband and close personal friend William Marsh II, nephew Clayton and nieces Jennifer and Justine. Irene will be deeply missed by family and friends. She courageously battled Lung Cancer, maintaining her daily activities, living life on her terms.

We will celebrate Irene’s life and all that she meant to us with a memorial service on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Irene’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
