Ida Mae Pope

Ida Mae Pope, age 92, passed away October 6, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Ida was born on February 15, 1925 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Ida loved to sew, crochet, and needle point. She was a loving mother, and raised her three sons to be strong Christian men. Ida was also a loving grandmother and sister; she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ida is preceded in death by her husband Nathan Pope. She is survived by her three sons Glen McRae (Jane), William David Wheeler (Judy), and Randy Wheeler (Shirley Ann); six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her sister Bessie Heisler.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
