Homer Jackson Taylor, 88, disabled US Naval veteran of World War II went to be with his Savior on August 6, 2013, leaving behind his devoted wife of 68 years Willia Mae Griffis Taylor, the love of his life. He is survived by his daughter Linda Taylor Hodges (David) and his son David Wayne Taylor (Sandra); grandsons David Hodges Jr. (Cara), Daniel Hodges (Amy), and Douglas Hodges (Janan) and 9 great grandchildren, all of whom loved and visited often with their "Pa".
Homer retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility as an instrument mechanic and watchmaker at NAS Jacksonville. He was a long time member of the Beaver Street Baptist Church, known now as First Coast Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at First Coast Baptist Church, 7587 Blanding Blvd, on Friday August 9, 2013 from
6-8 PM, and his funeral service will be at the church on Saturday Aug. 10 at 2 PM.
In leu of flowers donations can be made to First Coast Baptist Church.
