He was the best boss and my best friend ever.  I will miss and love him and he will be in my heart forever.

To meet each of you was a gift to each of us at Holy Spirit on Monday at the luncheon. His legacy lives on through each of you. You are all wonderful extensions of that terrific man! We were so honored to have known him and to have met you too. Your memories will be a lasting gift from Herb. Today I read about your recent loss and I'm sending my heartfelt sympathy and prayers you you and your family. A parents death leaves a tear in the family fabric that is difficult to mend. We all manage in different ways. Many with tiny stitches and some with a safety pin! Somehow the fabric does repair, a tribute to the missing family member. Please know you are in my thoughts during this extremely sad time.

Herb hired me to work at Castleton in 1988, and he was the best "boss" I ever had for sure. We eventually became good friends outside of work and learned to play golf together, ha! The first time we played at the old Dunes club he ahowed up with just a 5 iron and putter. He said he was going to learn to hit every shot with it. That was Herb. I will always treasure our time together, at work and at play. I will keep him in my prayers forever.

My first meeting Herb is a very fond memory.  Herb and Pat invited Jim & me out to dinner within days of us moving to Jacksonville.   They both made us feel so welcome.  That meeting and evening greatly eased my move to Jacksonville and joining the Bacardi family.  During  our conversation, we discovered  we both had lived in Norwalk Connecticut, a short distance apart.  They on East Rocks Rd. and us on West Rocks Rd.   Such a coincidence,  I wished we could have known them then and started our friendship sooner.
I always looked forward to seeing Herb at the Bacardi functions, receiving a warm, genuine, loving hug, followed by a conversation with much laughter. 

Jim & I admired and decided to adopt Herb's idea of taking each grandchild on a trip to a country of that child's choice.  Alone, just the two of them.
  To me, that spoke of his love and devotion to his family.

Ed and I and our children are very sad about Herb's passing.  We all looked forward to his visits to PA--he was so much fun to be around!  He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

HERB WAS ONE OF MY CLOSEST, LIFE LONG FRIENDS.  I ENJOYED WORKING WITH HIM AT SEALTEST IN PHILADELPHIA.  EVEN AFTER HE AND PAT MOVED TO FLORIDA, WE KEPT IN TOUCH BY PHONE AND AN OCCASIONAL VISIT.  HE WILL BE SADLY MISSED.
