Henry Lee Sessions, Jr., age 90 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center of Jacksonville, FL. He was born January 9, 1930 in Olustee, FL to Henry Lee Sessions, Sr. and Mattie Sessions. He had one sibling Ada Mae (Sessions) Spurling of Ocala, FL.
He first enlisted in the U.S. Army Serve out and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force with the combined services for 22 years. He retired in Omaha, Nebraska. After his military service, he worked at Campbell Soup Company. He move to Jacksonville, FL where he began working NAS Jacksonville as a civil service worker for 28 years. Henry lost his beloved wife Maeola (Murphy) Sessions on April 1983 and preceded by his long time love Sylva Marie (Pryor) Sessions and her family 27 years ago. He loved to travel, play music, and tell his war stories.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons Henry Earl Sessions, III (Dilo) of Jacksonville, FL, Harold T. Sessions of Jacksonville, FL, Jimmy Rich of St. Petersburg, FL, Niecy “Denice” Vinson of Tampa, FL. Henry is survived by 12 Grandchildren; Earl Sessions (Andriea) of Tampa, FL, Christopher Sessions (Marlee) of Jacksonville, FL, Katrina Q. Sessions-Fevier (Modestus) of Murfreesboro, TN, Enjoli Sessions of Hartford, CT, Hausani Sessions of Elmira NY, Jasmina Jones of Jacksonville, FL, Sarina Wallace of Tampa, FL, Francina Parrish (Nathaniel) of Jacksonville, FL, Shakira Nelson of Tampa, FL, Victoria Benson of Tampa, FL, Sylvia Whitfield (Carrissa) of Jacksonville, FL, and Brandon Whitfield of Jacksonville, FL. Henry is survived by 16 Great-Grandchildren Christopher Sessions, Jr., Savannah Sessions, Dallas Sessions, Allaah Sessions, Taneisha Sessions, Ahman Sessions, Cayson Sessions, Modestus Fevier, Jr., Quante Fevier, Xzavier Fevier, Sa’mya Wallace, Quan Nelson, Corey Nelson, Marlee Whitfield, Joseph Parrish and Jonathan Parrish. Henry is also survived by two Brothers-in-law Herman Murphy and Dennis Murphy of Lake City, FL; Nieces Barbara Jean Mack and Loretta Mack of Lake City, FL; Nephew Daniel Mack of Lake City, FL; Special Daughter Joyce Washington and son David Spurling of Ocala, FL and a host of loving family members and friends.
