Henry G. Helton, 98, of Live Oak, passed away on February 25, 2014 in Live Oak, Florida. Mr. Helton was retired from NAS Jacksonville after 37 years as a sheet metal mechanic. He was a former 43 year member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church where he served as the church treasurer, Deacon, Sunday School teacher and trustee. Currently, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Live Oak. He loved traveling, camping and fishing. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 55 years, Thelma Helton. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 13 years, Ruby Lee Brown Helton; his five children, H. Grady Helton III (Peggy) of Jacksonville, Irene Stapleton (Jim) of Jacksonville, Marlene Browning of Lake City, Melinda (J.M.) Dedge of Leesburg, GA and Douglas Helton of Lake City; 17 grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205 www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 1372 Lane Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32205 with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Dr. John W. Montgomery, pastor of the church, will be officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
