Helene S. Duffy: Ms. Duffy, age 99, born and raised in Jacksonville, passed away on February 4, 2016. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and retired following a career in Civilian Personnel Administration with the U.S. Navy. She loved traveling the world with her husband, was an avid golfer, and played and coached women’s basketball for many years with AAU teams based in Jacksonville. She spent many years as an antique dealer with King Antique Shows.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, R. Ralph Duffy; sister, Lucy; and grandson, Samuel Mays. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Russell) Mays; grandson, Andrew Mays; and many nieces and nephews.
A vigil service will be held from 5-7pm, with a Rosary at 7pm, on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida. A cryptside service will be held Friday, February 12, 2016, at 10:30am at Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice.
