Helen R. Hardin, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in Pensacola, FL. She was born November 22, 1926 to Harry and Theodocia Newton in Vidalia, GA. Helen loved to dance and travel. She made a trip to Europe when she was 75 years old. She also loved to cook and was famous for her fried chicken and Coca-Cola cake. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Theodocia Newton, four brothers Elton Newton, George Newton, Ben Newton, Quitman Newton and five sisters Gladys Daigle, Sally Joe Harris, Nellie Jack Zamsky, Ruby Washburn and Orllie Hardin. She is survived by three daughters Barbara Helen Swearngin, Marie Gwenn Chretien, Cynthia Sue Legidakes, one son William Hardin Jr., 10 grandchildren as well as 17 great-grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Funeral arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 11:00am in the chapel. Funeral services to be held at 12:00pm with interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park following services.
