H. Phyllis Perez of Jacksonville, Florida, died July 25, 2017 at the age of 93 while under the care of St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville. She was born on January 24, 1924 in Miami, as the first child of William W. Hall and Mary L. Little. After her father’s passing, she and her beloved sister, Margaret, were raised by their mother and step father, Carl Callahan in Jacksonville. She attended Robert E. Lee High School, where she graduated in 1941. Shortly after graduation, she married Steve F. Perez on July 29, 1941.
Phyllis, also known as Rose by her family and close friends, was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and beloved grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 76 years, Steve; her children (spouse), Mary Phyllis (Mel), Steve (Cynthia) and Helen; grandchildren, Michele, Donna, Melanie (Kevin), Adam, Rachel, and Heather (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Meagan, Reed and Tulsa Rose; and many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
A celebration of her life and cremation service will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park Chapel (www.HGRiversideFuneralHome.com) located at 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32205 on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Chris Pruitt officiating.
