His career path was in route sales and insurance. His character and compassion was demonstrated on a multitude of levels by going over and beyond for his clients and not just looking out for himself.
He was preceded in death by his parents Macon and Eula Auten of Cramerton, NC; brothers and sisters: Catherine Carnes, Fannie Chaney, Fred Auten, Lorene Baker, Lloyd Auten, Glenn Auten, Doris Whitener. He was previously married to Katherine Collins Auten of Gastonia, and Ginny Thompson of Jacksonville. His children love and adore him. They are: Kathy Wrenn and the late Gary Wrenn of Oak Island, NC, Harold Auten, Jr. and wife Tina of Currie, NC, David Auten and wife Dee of Concord, NC, Becky Reaves and husband Dale of Gastonia, NC. Step daughter, Tammy Lota and husband Todd of Jacksonville, Fl. His grandchildren are: Michael Twitty Jr and wife Theresa, Steven Wrenn and wife Cindy, Wendy Bachand and husband Christopher, Larry Springer and wife Yolanda, Trent Auten, Kyndal Auten and Robbie Reaves. Great grand children: Jacob Wrenn, Christopher and Aaliyah Bachand. He had many nieces and nephews.
He was an advid fisherman holding a state and world record for 20lb-8oz Flounder. He had a great sense of humor and loved Nascar and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
