Gregory Allen Price, devoted husband and loving father of two sons, was born June 26th, 1951 in Houston, Texas. He was the eldest of 4 to Joann Price (Fishbaugh) and Ray Allen Price. As a child, his family moved to Columbus, Ohio and as he grew, he developed into a resourceful and independent young man, keeping busy caddying and running paper routes. He met his wife, Frances Waltz, in 1969 while attending high school at St. Francis DeSales. He had an incredibly brilliant mind, graduating high school at the top of his class and afterwards, while attending Ohio University, he dual degreed in History and Economics, graduating in three years phi beta kappa and having been awarded a Danforth Fellowship. He continued graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin. He married Frances in 1973. Greg was in rehabilitation for workman’s compensation throughout his work career. He originally worked for the State of Ohio and moved to the Department of Labor as a rehabilitation specialist. He was 33 years with the Federal Government. He moved with his family to Jacksonville, Florida in 1986, where he lived the rest of his life. He was a kind and gentle man, stern when needed, terse at times, yet fearlessly loyal, and a committed father and husband through the good times and the not so good times. He was a generous and charitable man. He loved the mountains and many a summer vacation was spent traveling with family through the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Kentucky mountains, and the rolling hills of Ohio. He was also an avid gardener, a lover of all things green and growing. His roses were the envy of the neighborhood, blossoming year after year under his tender care and attention. Lastly, when presented with a grandson, he could not have been more proud or happy. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray A. Price and survived by his wife, Frances Waltz Price, sons Zachary A. Price (wife Allegra Hollenbeck) and Adam B. Price (Lauren Wilson), grandson Ellis A.
