Glennis Eugene Learn Jr.

Gene Learn, age 74, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. He graduated from Florida State University and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by his wife, Lynda, his sister, Beth, his brother, David, and his five children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He worked for the City of Jacksonville and Duval County School Board for 30 years.

Gene spent his life lightening the burdens of others without a concern for himself or expectation for gratitude. His quiet and gentle ways brought a simple comfort to others when they needed it most. When Gene spoke, others listened. He took pride in his family, and his family was blessed daily by his love for them.

Gene’s family will host a celebration of life for him on September 11, 2022, 2 pm – 4 pm, at the Palencia Club, 600 Palencia Club Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32095. In recognition of his passion for football, they ask guests to come ready to represent the Seminoles and Jaguars, his favorite teams. They’re looking forward to seeing plenty of garnet and gold, teal and black while watching the Jags take the field!
