Gladys Stevens

Gladys L. Stevens, 103, passed away on November 18th. She was born in Statesboro, GA on February 11, 1910. She moved to Jacksonville at the age of 9 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald M. Stevens, parents Charles Baker and Fannie Clark Miley; sisters Ruth, Lula Mae, and Pauline; brothers Rufus, Edward, and Fred.

Survivors include her dear friend, Joseph H. McCoy, as well as many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Gladys was employed by the Florida State Board of Health in the Bureau of Vital Statistics at the age of 16 years and retired after 45 years of service. She was a member of the State Board of Health Credit Union and served as secretary.

Visitation will be Saturday Nov23 from 10 am-12 noon Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home 729 S. Edgewood Ave, with graveside funeral services to follow at 2:30 pm at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
