Geraldine R. Brown

Geraldine R. Brown, 79, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born November 6, 1936 in Hoboken, GA but lived in Jacksonville most of her life. Geraldine loved to go fishing and garden. She especially loved flower gardening but also did some vegetables in her garden. She was a terrific seamstress back in the day and was a perfectionist when it came to sewing clothes for herself and her children. She also enjoyed crocheting. Geraldine retired from JEA with just over 20 years’ service. Some called her Geri but most family members called her Teant. She is preceded in death by her mother Josephine Rachel Hickox as well as her oldest son Joe, two brothers Sam and Buddy and one sister Dianne. Geraldine is survived by one son, two daughters, one sister Janice Rhoden, two grandsons, three great-granddaughters and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 12-1pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services to follow at 1:00pm with interment following at Riverside Memorial Park.
