Mr. George Samuel Wise Jr.

George was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin Wise and his sister, Alice Wise McCormick. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martha Mickler Wise; daughters, Kathie Brewer (Larry), Patricia Noble (Jon), Martha Watson (Mark); grandchildren, Karen Shalters (Christian), Robin Huber (Kevin), Mark Robert Watson (Vanessa), David Watson (Amanda), and George McElwain; and great grandchildren, Benjamin and Miranda Shalters, Christopher, Joshua and Lyla Huber, Eden and Jace Watson. He had many nieces and nephews, and beloved in-laws, Bruce McCormick, Paul Mickler (Jeanne), Frances Howard (John), and Latrell Mickler.

George was proud to have worked until he was 89 years old. He was the original owner of Abe's Wrecker Service and Body Shop. He also owned George's Auto Sales, which was closed in May after 62 years.

He was very loyal to his many lifetime friends and had a very generous heart.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, December 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32217. Graveside inurnment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207. There will be a reception for friends and family at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel Legacy Lodge.

Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or, in lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory can be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
