George H. Nelson

NELSON George Henry Nelson, age 73, of Jacksonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 3, 2011. He was born to the late John and Eva Mae Nelson on January 4, 1938. George is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sylvia Nelson; daughter, Tammie Nelson Altman; stepsons, John Russell Evans, Jr. and Jeffrey James Johns ( Jalese); stepdaughter, Kimberly Kay Johns Parlette; son-in-law, Joe Smith (Debbie); brothers, Billy Nelson and Richard Nelson (Judy); sisters, Vera Nelson Rhoden and Earline Nelson Touchton; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces , nephews, and friends. George is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 29 years, Dolores Taylor Nelson; daughter, Sandra Lynn Nelson Smith; and brother, David Nelson. George will be remembered for his love and devotion to God, his family, and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205. Visitation will be Sunday, November 5, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Monday, November 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Hart Haven Baptist Church located at 47 Jim Wright Road Jacksonville, FL 32254 with Rev. Donald Cooley officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park located at 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205.
