Mr. Odom graduated from Mercer University in 1953, with a B.A. degree in Business Administration. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was an owner of Beaver Industrial Supply Company in Jacksonville, FL. He was a member of the VFW Post #7909, American Legion #137, and the Forty & Eight. He served as Chaplain for each of those organizations.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Athol Eugene Odom Sr. and Sarah Worsley Odom; and sister, Martha Lahla Odom.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Anne Odom; daughter, Gena Lynne Masciello and her husband Dr. Anthony Masciello; son, Gary Willis Odom and his wife Lori Lynn Odom; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 27th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home & Riverside Memorial Park, 7272 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
