He was born November 15, 1954 to Harold and Louise Smith in Jacksonville, FL.
Gary loved to act and sing, put jigsaw puzzles together and watch old movies. He really loved the Lord and knew quite a bit about the bible. Gary had an unusual sense of humor and always brought a smile to people’s faces.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Beatrice, two daughters Rebecca (Joshua) Crews, Carla (Brandon) Gerringer, two granddaughters Ashlyn, Madilyn, one brother Maurice Smith and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for friends will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 6-8pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11am at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3436 Lane Ave. N., Jacksonville, FL 32254 with interment at Riverside Memorial Park at 2:30pm.
