Gary F. Peters

Gary Franklin Peters, born September 19, 1950 in Cub Run, KY, passed away December 30,2020 at home in St. Johns, FL. Gary is survived by his loving partner and wife of 30 years, Jennifer, brother Larry (Becky), children Rex (Jennifer), Alaina (TJ Ray) and Brandon (Meagan), grandchildren Andrew, Leah, Gavin and Ava as well as extended family and many dear friends.

Gary had wonderful employers through the years including NAPA (warehouse and retail), Petro Chemical Products, and Florida Powertrain from which he retired in 2012. Gary was a gentleman and a gentle-man, always loved by the older ladies he would meet for whom he was never too busy to provide a helping hand. He loved playing golf, bowling (active league member for years), listening to music of the ‘60’s, and dreaming of one day owning a ’57 Chevy. He was blessed to make life long friends wherever he worked and played. Gary loved animals, particularly dogs; his current fur-babies being Bailey and his best fur-baby, Sofee, who is lost without her daddy.

In recent months, we were blessed for the support and care provided by many including Andrew (Brooks Home Health), Adam F, the team at the Ambulatory Infusion Center and the transplant teams (Mayo Clinic Jax), and Community Hospice of NE Florida.

A memorial service for immediate family will be held on January 14th at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Celebration of Life will be planned for all friends and family to gather post-COVID. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org).
