Fred Wright was born in Calhoun, Georgia on July 8, 1965 and was the only survivor of triplets. He was raised in Jacksonville, Florida by his paternal uncle and aunt, Vernon and Glady Wright.
He graduated from Nathan Bedford Forrest High School in 1983. Fred had an infectious laugh and a smile that made everyone feel special. Fred was a true Elvis Presley fan and loved to sing Elvis songs! He had a really good voice and would often sing to lift his own spirits. Despite his challenges, Fred maintained a positive attitude, provided encouragement to those who needed it the most, and never spoke ill of anyone. He was a true friend to all who knew him.
Fred is preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Wright, his “Papa and Momma”, Vernon and Glady Wright, who raised him as their own, and his “brother-in-law” Ernie Bennett.
He leaves behind his “brothers and sisters”, Jack (Georgia) Wright, Glenda (Davis) Collier, Frankie (Rob) Robbins, Kathy (Ernie) Bennett, and Jimmy Wright, many other close relatives and a host of friends who will miss him very much.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00am at the Wesconnett Church of Christ, 5223 Wesconnett Blvd. Jacksonville. A reception will be held after the service.
Fred, a long-time member of Wesconnett Church of Christ, loved his church and his church family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to this wonderful church who loved Fred in return.
A special thank you to Life Care Center at Wells Crossing for always taking such good care of Fred. He called Life Care his “home away from home”.
He is loved and will be greatly missed.
