Frederick M. Griffin

GRIFFIN, FREDERICK M. “Freddy”, Age 67, passed away on February 26, 2014 after a long history of congestive heart failure. He was born in Jacksonville and graduated from Andrew Jackson Class of ’66; then worked for JEA starting in 1968 and retired after 30 years of service. Being the youngest of 14, he was preceded in death by parents, Marion and Leola Griffin; brothers Marion Jr. “Bubba”, Billy, Donnie, Bob, Norman, Johnny, and Frank; sisters, Marguerite Toler, Mary Hadden, Dorothy Drury, Carolyn Green, and June Pritchard. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gayla (Lowery); daughter, Melissa Kowieski (Doug); son, Ryan Griffin (Natalie); seven grandchildren, Noah, Joshua, and Sarah Kowieski, Tyler, Ethan, Connor and Christian Griffin; brother, Jimmy (Ann); and many other loving relatives. A memorial service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Franklin Street Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin St, with Pastor Terry Gore officiating.
