Fran was a woman of advocacy and service. From her careers in preschool education, social services, and finally retiring as a state grant specialist, she was empowered by her desire to care for others. She was driven by the same passions in her personal life. Over her lifetime she brought many into her home to provide them with support, guidance, love, and a chance to get back on their feet. Fran found purpose and fulfillment in the care and service of others.
Fran found her person renewal in reading, learning, and sharing time with her husband of 40 years, Harold Bragg. She loved getting her book deliveries from the Smithsonian and National Geographics. She would spend hours reading, highlighting, and underlining in all types of books. The history of America and Native Americans were her greatest subjects of interest. As life slowed down over the past several years, Fran and Harold would often spend their evenings watching movies together in the sitting room, especially when Kevin Costner was on the screen!! Prior to her forced slow down, she loved to go to the community pool a couple of times a week to get in some good exercise time.
Fran was predeceased by her mother, Clarice Butler Catalano and father, Anthony Catalano. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Harold Bragg; her sons Trebor and Michael; daughters in law, Teresa and Kim, respectively; grandchildren, Ashley, Cheryl Marie, Sydney, Christopher, and Nicholas; and great grandchildren, Mica, Eugene, Faith, Winifred, Annabelle, AJ, and Peanut.
A memorial service for Frances will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
