Floyce Bivian Collins, 92, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on May 23, 1926 to the late Sara Johnson Lindsey Smith and Alphes Edgar Smith. She was preceded in death by her dearly loved son, Charles H. Lovett, Jr. Floyce is survived by her seven children, Marcia Lovett Kaniosky, Claudia P. Lovett, William A. Collins(Maryann), Susan J. Collins, Elizabeth Caraway, Adam J. Collins (Satartia), and Angela Kay Collins. She was a caring grandmother, blessed with thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother who taught her children early on about the love of Jesus and the importance of faith, prayer, and trust in Him. Her faith never wavered even during difficult times. Floyce was a dignified, strong Southern lady. She was always impeccably groomed; beautiful inside and out. She was loving, compassionate, and always put her children first. She also proudly worked as a realtor for several years. She was an avid reader until her eyesight failed. She kept us all updated on politics and current events. She was a great storyteller and had a wonderful sense of humor. We all enjoyed and looked forward to her delicious, southern cooking.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25,m 2019 with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home at 729 S Edgewood Avenue 32205. A committal service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice And Palliative Care.
