Farid Habeeb Jahjah, age 88, resident of Jacksonville, FL, entered into eternal life on January 23rd, 2020 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home. He was born in Abu Sinan, Palestine on May 11th, 1931 and immigrated to the United States in 1991.
Farid had a strong devotion to his family and a diligent work ethic. He had such a strong love for his extended family and friends back home. He missed them dearly living overseas and spoke of them daily. He was a distinguished individual known as the Professor, Principal, Teacher, Author and The Poet of Akka. He left a great impact on many generations of students who continue to follow his guidance until this day. His passion for teaching and education endured to his last days.
Farid is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Naznin Jahjah; children, Osama (Nadia), Suheir (Gregg), Rana, Nezar (Elizabeth); Cherished grandchildren, Rony, Reamon, Shadi, Daniel, Farid, Lubna, Georgina, Towfigh, Ramsey, Mikey, Lina, Dunia and Habeeb. Farid is also survived by his loving brother Yousef Jahjah and his sister Rosa Jahjah.
Preceded in death by his parents, Habeeb and Beke Jahjah; brother, Wadia; brother, Badia; His beloved daughter Mona Ashchi.
Dad, you were the ideal example for all of us to follow. May you rest in peace with your parents, brothers and daughter. May your memory be eternal. The family is very grateful for all the prayers received.
