Faith Carter “Gramzz” Welch (77), of St. Johns, passed away suddenly from a brain aneurysm on November 27, 2023. A celebration of life memorial service will be held December 7th at 2:30pm at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32223. Pastor Mark Dumdei will be officiating. Faith’s daughter and granddaughter were by her side as she took her final breath and went home to be with Our Lord & Savior.
Faith was born March 10, 1946, daughter of Ellwood and Hope Robinson, in Jacksonville Florida. She graduated from Englewood High School where she enjoyed playing clarinet in the marching band, was involved with Campfire Girls and attended church regularly with her parents. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Science degree at Berry College in 1967, completed her Dietetic Internship at Emory University in 1968 and immediately began her first job with S & S Food Administration as a Consultant Dietician. Faith began her lifelong career as an Independent Registered Consultant Dietician at dozens of Skilled Nursing Facilities, Continuing Care Retirement Centers, and Hospitals. To spend more time traveling with her retired veteran and late husband, Charles Welch, Faith limited her consulting schedule for a few years and then fully retired after 45 years of service from her last facility, Westminster Woods, in 2013.
Faith met the love of her life, “Charlie”, while working for the state and was married for nearly 40 years until Charlie’s death in 2014. They built their home in Switzerland (St. Johns) in 1978 and less than a year later welcomed and raised their daughter, Robin.
Faith is survived by her daughter Robin Blackwelder, son-in-law John Blackwelder, and her 2 precious granddaughters, Julia and Hope Kennedy.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Faiths memory by giving a donation to the charity of your choice in her name.
