Fabiola de Mello Machado Leal, known to her friends as “Fabulous” left this earthy body on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. She leaves behind three loving daughters, Yasmine, Nora and Sara, mother Sandra, sister, Patricia and a host of relatives, dear friends and her tribe. To know Fabiola was to know that she loved God with here whole heart and was servant to her core. Having experienced the love and hope of Jesus Christ, she wanted to share that with everyone she met. Fabiola gave of her time, her talent, her treasure and especially her testimony by serving in her local church, as a mission team member to Costa Rica, and as an abortion healing facilitator. Even if you only met her once, you know she was warm, welcoming, friendly, helpful and loving. Fabi was a warrior, not only for herself but for those she fiercely loved. She always met everyone with a smile and infectious laughter. To say she will be missed is an understatement. No matter what went on in her life, Fabiola stood on the truth of Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
From a mother’s heart: “Words fail me and tears overflow. My Fabiola left and left not only her daughters, but all of us orphans. Amazing person, always ready to help those in need. She oozed love. Unconditional love for her daughters, loving with her parents, sister and nephews and, she knew, being a friend like no one else. I pray to God that my beloved granddaughters follow the example set by their mother and that they are always sure that, whether I am here or not, they can always count on my love and help. No mother should go through this experience, but we have to accept God's designs. He wants the enlightened ones close to him and I can only mourn and cry. Depart in peace my beloved daughter. Love, Mamãe
From a sister’s heart: "Wow, what an example of an amazing human being was Fabíola. She left her homeland early in search of her dreams of building a better life- and went further! She built an incredible family as an amazing cultural patchwork, which only enriched and showed me that love knows no bounds. What is interesting is that even living thousands of kilometers apart, we always kept ourselves close, supporting each other, loving each other, fighting and then reconciliating soon after. Was she perfect? No, but she had a great heart and was always in search of her best self, a fabulous example of a woman! Rest in peace my dear sister, may Mary receive you in her arms, and may God comfort our hearts, as you leave an immense hole in our lives. I will always love you! And may your beloved daughters know that they can always count on their aunt that, even far away, loves and admires them dearly." – Love, Patricia
