Evelyne "Evie" R. Edwards

Evelyne “Evie” Edwards, 97, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 peacefully with her loved ones at her home of 50+ years. She was born and raised in Chicago, IL and was the youngest of 13 children. Evelyne settled in Jacksonville in the 1940s and married her husband, Irvine”Eddie” Edwards in 1950. They were married for 52 years. He passed away in 2002.

Evie, as she was known by most, was president of the River Garden Home for the Aged (1967-1969), was active in The Garden Club of Jacksonville and was an avid bridge and canasta player. Prior to retiring, she assisted Eddie at Edwards Men’s Shop in Lakewood.

Evie was a wonderful Mom to her daughters, Sherry Edwards Finn and Janice Edwards Levy. Her son’s-in-law, Kevin Finn and Paul Levy, also survive her. In addition, she leaves two loving grandsons, Eric Reed Levy and Matthew Chase Finn.

A private graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery 4535 Main Street.
