Eva Moore Poole, was born April 15, 1927, in Due West, SC, and grew up in Greenwood, SC. She was one of five siblings born to James and Willie Moore.
She met her husband, Joe Poole, who was a pilot, and married him in 1945, in Greenwood, SC. They were married 68 years until his death in 2014. She followed him to Moultrie, GA, Minneapolis, MN, and Jacksonville, FL during their marriage. They raised three children, a son, Joe, Jr, and two daughters, Patricia and Marcia. She worked for Hall Marine Insurance which became Barnhardt Marine Insurance for 40 years as office manager. She was an avid tennis player and golfer. She was known for her gracious entertaining in the southern tradition.
Eva passed away in her sleep. She will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor, and friend. She was an iconic southern belle, who never met a stranger, opened her home to many guests, friends, family, business associates, neighbors, and parties over the years. She raised her family to be as warm, kind, gracious, and friendly as she was. She set an amazing example.
Eva is survived by her sister, two daughters, two granddaughters, and five great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1PM on December 2, 2023, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, The Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville Florida, 32207
