Eva (Eve) C. France, age 93, of Venice, FL and formerly of Jacksonville, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Eve was born in Winslow, Arkansas on January 14, 1921 to Otto and Gladys Center. She attended Wichita Business College and went on to serve at the Pentagon as an administrative assistant during WWII. After marrying and staying home to raise her two children, she re-entered the work force and became the administrative assistant to the Dean of Faculties at Jacksonville University where she served for seventeen years. She spent 35 years teaching and volunteering at First Baptist Church Jacksonville and in the early 1980s she joined the staff of First Baptist as Pre-School Director.
Eve is survived by her son, Ken France (Cherry) of Mechanicsburg, PA; grandson, Micah France (Becky); two great grandsons, Keegan and Dominic France; her daughter, Lynn France Chism of Palm Coast, FL; and grandson, Timothy Chism (Molly). Eve’s joy in life was her family and serving the Lord through countless acts of kindness and service to those around her.
The Funeral Service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 8 with visitation one hour prior to service at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel.
