Emmett attended Andrew Jackson High School followed by a career with Jacksonville Electric Authority as a Unit Operator. He enjoyed watching football and golf as well as doing a bit of fishing. However, his biggest passion was serving his Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Virginia Wright as well as one brother Dickie Wright. Emmett is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sonja Wright, one brother, Jim Wright (Jacque), two children, Karen Thompson and Chester Wright, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Emmett will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 7, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Monday, October 7, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
