Emmett Eugene “Gene” Roberts, 80, a native of Jacksonville went to his Heavenly home on November 14, 2012. Gene is survived by his longtime companion Mary Frances Bond of the Villas of St. Johns who shared his soul, his politics, and spark for life, her son; Robert H. Bond, of Nashville. Gene enjoyed reading the Bible and discussing the Bible. He is a member of the Avondale Baptist Church. He attended Bolles Military Academy and then Gene graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1950. Gene attended Stetson College. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Gene graduated with honors from the Georgia Military College. In 1985 after a near fatal accident he returned to school and obtained his paralegal degree. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax FL. 32205. Visitation will be held in the chapel on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
