Emma Janice Faulkner passed away peacefully on July 2, 2019 at the age of 87. Born August 14, 1923 to Millie and Noah Norton in Jacksonville, Florida she was the third child of five. Growing up between Jacksonville and Bryceville, she had both a city and country upbringing.
Meeting the love of her life, Porter L. Faulkner, they married in 1951 and set out to start their lives together. His naval career took them from coast to coast and gave Janice the opportunity to see much the United States including Philadelphia, PA, Quonset Point, RI, San Francisco, Long Beach and Chula Vista, CA, Monroe, LA, and Norfolk VA, before bringing them back to Jacksonville as their permanent home.
Janice wore many hats in life, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was comfortable in all of them. Out of all of the rolls she was tasked to fulfill in her life she excelled at taking care of and loving her husband and family. Her personality had many facets and ranged from serious to comical, stern to compassionate, wise to silly. We all learned so much from her either by her teaching us or just observing her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Porter Lloyd, both parents and three brothers and sister. Janice is survived by her children Sharon Morrow, Sandy Gorski, Devin Faulkner & wife Kathy. Grandchildren Jason Garner, Samantha Crawford & husband Cree, Megan Jensen and 3 Great-grandchildren Luke Garner, Halo and Sterling Crawford.
