Dear Bannie, 
I was only 4 when you passed away I miss you soooo much! I hope you are having a good time in heaven. People say that I don’t remember you but I do because I remember walking into the hospital room 3 days before you passed and you telling me that you love me! I love you bannie!

I remember when I first met you in 1963.  You were like a mom to me.  You made so many friends and were so kind and loving to so many people. You are being missed by many and it helps knowing you are so happy in heaven and finally pain free.  Knowing you, you're there helping others, sharing a kind word and putting out a helping hand. It will be a great day when we meet again.  You will always be in our hearts.

Mother, its been 2 weeks.  I feel like its been 2 years....or longer.  I miss you so much.  And I may not post here again because I'm going to start a journal.  I've heard the first year is always the hardest so I'm going to make some notes for the first year and hope that I make it thru the first year and realize I have your strength and that I can do this.  

I love you, Mother.  I sure do miss you.  Yolanda and I are watching out for daddy and he does a tiny, TINY bit better everyday.  I know you're watching him too.  Again, a love like few ever know....or even get to see.

Keep smiling, mother.  And keep watching us and making sure we're safe.  We're going to be alright.  Its just going to take some time.... a LONG time.

Mother, I know you were there when Yolanda and daddy and I visited at the cemetery on Monday.  The wind blew.  I told daddy at the funeral that was you.  And there you were again.  

And I know you were there waiting on that little girl who was killed here on Saturday.  Cherish...8 years old... you and Granny had to be standing there waiting for her because you knew how scared she was.  There was a reason you were there so soon.  She needed a friendly face and there was never a more friendly one than you.

I miss you mother.  The picture today is of smiling flowers.  I miss your smile, mother.  I miss everything about you.  I love you so much.  And you know how difficult this is, Mother, so send me some strength.... please.  I'll talk to you soon.

Mother, its just me again.  I know you heard everybody at church yesterday and if there was any doubt about how many people love you, those comments should have set your mind at ease.

Daddy loved you most.  We're trying to help him thru the sadness but you know how hard it is.  You need to whisper to him now and again, please.  It will make him more at ease, I'm sure.

I love you, mother.  Yes, I'm crying again.  I told you I'd miss you more than you missed your mother and you didn't think that was possible. Well, what do you think now?

Mother, did you like the balloons?  You know its what I wanted to have done at my own funeral so I only thought it was right for me to do it for you.  I tried to convince daddy that we were letting your spirit soar but I'm not sure it did what I was hoping it would do.  

And when the priest got to the cemetery I know you heard him when he approached me and said "I said 60 years because your mother was only 83".  He thought I'd made a typo in the eulogy when I had "69".  I assured him I was right and that you were only 14 when you married my 19 year old daddy.  He laughed.  I pointed at daddy and said "cradle robber", daddy smile and the priest and I laughed.

Mother, we made it thru yesterday.  I thought the worse day of my life was when you took your last breath.  I was wrong.  It was yesterday.  But we sent up those balloons so you'd know we were letting your spirit soar.  How funny it was to have that one lone balloon get stuck in that tree right over your special resting place.  

And thank you for the nice cool breeze.  I told daddy that was you making sure we were comfortable.  You done good.

And when you saw all those people at the church, I hope that confirmed to you just how much you are loved and just how much you'll be missed.  Gosh, lots of friends I've not seen in a long time.

Mother, we did okay last night.  Not great.  Just okay.  I know you saw all the tears and all the people and all of that just re-confirmed how much you're loved and how much you'll be missed.

And I wanted to tell you that the priest said I look more and more like you everyday.  I told him that was the good news.

Coming home last night we drove thru McDonald's to get some McNuggets and the girl taking the money said "you're smile just made my night.  Thank you".  When I told her where we were coming from, her eyes teared up.  I told her to smile on....you were with God.

I did not know Elizabeth, but I know she was the best mother-in-law you could ask for.  This from my co-worker and her son-in-law, Jim. Beloved wife, adored mother, sweet grandmother & great-grandmother.  Her beautiful spirit will live on.  My condolences to the family.

Mother, we're coming to see you this afternoon.  We haven't seen you since the wee hours on Sunday morning.  Now, its Thursday.  You know we'll all cry, especially Pappy.  We're going to take care of him, mother.  I promise.  And I know you're watching so we'll certainly do our very best.  We miss you so much.  I never knew I could feel this empty.

Dear Rampino Family,  may God be at your side now and forever.  Let it be known, he will comfort you in your time of sorrow.  Your memories will keep the smile on your face of Elizabeth and she will still be with you even though you think she isn't.  God Bless to your family........... My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. You were blessed to have Bannie for many wonderful years together and those will never be forgotten. She will be remembered for the lady who loved to drink water - plenty of it too. I will never forget when I was in her hospital room years ago and I was the first visitor of the morning and she begged me for a sip of water. But, the chart said no fluids by mouth. I held her hand and said Bannie I would love to give you some water but I can't, not until the doctors say it is okay. She closed her eyes as if she understood and we just held hands. Enjoy your mansion, the streets of gold, dinner with the King and the smile on your mother's face.  We'll see you later.  I look forward to sitting on the swing or in one of those rocking chairs on the porch of the mansion as we wave to friends and family who stroll by.
