Elizabeth Johnson Hudson

Elizabeth graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, Florida, and attended Jacksonville University. She was employed as a telephone operator, receptionist, office manager for her brother’s medical practice, and bookkeeper for Robert M. Price, CPA. Elizabeth was a life-long Methodist beginning with the Woodstock Methodist Church in Jacksonville where her parents and other family members were founders. She was later a member of Murray Hill United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, and attended Covenant Presbyterian Church of Sarasota. She enjoyed quilting, reading, spending time with family and friends, and was an avid fan of Downton Abbey.

She was the daughter of Benjamin A. and Lillie (Gardner) Johnson. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 23, 1929.

She was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Benjamin A. Johnson, Jr. and her husband James L. Hudson, Jr.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Pamela Schuneman and husband, Steven P. Milner of Osprey, Florida; son, James L. Hudson III and wife, Laura of Crawfordville, Florida; grandchildren, Dr. Lily Schuneman, Jennifer Schuneman, Capt. Benjamin Hudson, U.S. Army, and Susan Hudson; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32205 on Wednesday, October 26, visitation 10am-12 noon, service after, with Interment at 1pm in Riverside Memorial Park.
