Elizabeth "Liz" Hearn passed away on December 18, 2013 at her home in Orange Park, Florida. She was born on May 31, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. Liz lived most of her life in Jacksonville, where she attended local schools. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High and attended Florida State University.
Following a career with the Ford Motor Company, Liz retired with a thirty year work history. She was a life-time member of Riverside United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and participating in church activities. She was a past member of the Cummer Museum where she served as a Docent. A recent move to Brandon Place in Orange Park provided Liz with the opportunity to make many new friends. Her faith, gentle smile and kindness were reflected in the life she led. She was admired and loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Oaklawn Cemetery with a reception to follow in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverside Park Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society, in honor of Elizabeth Hearn. HARDAGE-GIDDENS, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL, 4801 San Jose Boulevard is serving the family.
