Elizabeth A. Foote

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Young Foote, daughter of Linda Ferri Young and Albertus Young, born on February 29, 1928 in Cambridge, MA, died peacefully on August 27, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL with family at her side. A memorial service was held in Jacksonville on August 31.

The youngest of 12 children, Betty is predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters and her son, Larry W. Foote. She is survived by brother Edward W. Young of Jamestown, NC; daughters, Auburn Steward and Marcia Veith (Tim); son, Craig Foote (Michele); six grandchildren, Douglas Steward (Karen), Eric Steward (Marian), Chelsea Foote, Chad Foote, Peyton Veith, and Bailey Veith; and 2 great-grandchildren, Miller and Marian Elizabeth Steward.

Betty lived in New Orleans from 1970 until 2001. She was an active member of Lake Vista United Methodist Church, the Faculty Wives group at the University of New Orleans, Newcomers’ Club, and other civic activities. Her many hobbies included baking, sewing, bridge, and various arts and crafts. She also worked for SCORE, and retired to Metairie, LA. She moved to Little Rock, AR to be closer to family in 2001, and in 2006, she moved to Jacksonville, FL to an assisted-living facility also near family. Betty will be missed by her family and many lifetime friends across the country.
