Edward Douglas Shelton

Eddie was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to parents John Thomas and Dorothy Louise (Nolan) Shelton (deceased). He graduated from Father Ryan High School before 3 years of honorable service in the United States Navy. He then began what would become a 38-year career at CSX, providing many friends, memories, and a move to Jacksonville, Florida, before retiring in 2015. Eddie truly enjoyed his time with his friends and family, especially at home on his back patio.

Eddie was preceded in death by his brother, John “Johnny” Shelton, Jr. Eddie is survived by his wife, Jodi (Shirley) Shelton; kids, Michael Shelton (Jessica), Tracy Dahlweiner (Mike), and Brandon Shelton (Whitney); sister Dorothy “Dot” Kempf (Ron); brother Joe Shelton (Jeanette); and grandkids, Brooks, Haley, Connor, Cooper, Grayson, and Rhett.

Per his request, no funeral service will be held. Instead, he requested a small “Celebration of Life” with close friends and family. We do appreciate the services of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin for assistance with all arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local hospice or children’s hospital.
