Edward McBride, beloved husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and cherished friend to many passed away on July 29, 2018 in Jacksonville Florida at the age of sixty-nine. Edward steadfastly devoted his life to family and country. He served courageously in the United States Army during the Vietnam War to protect the very freedom and ideals we all cherish. He was later employed as a foreman at Newsday in Long Island, New York. He excelled in everything he was a part of but mostly in instilling love, inspiration and unity in the family. He served as a prime example of what a husband, father and grandfather should strive to become. He was a truly selfless man.
Edward is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joan; his daughter, Grace; his son, Nicholas; son-in-law, Christopher; and two grandchildren, Sophia and Caden.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
