Edward Ronald Baker

Edward Ronald Baker, 85, of Jacksonville, FL, peacefully went to his heavenly home on September 11, 2023. Ron was the son of the late Max H. Baker and Beulah Sprouse Baker of Richmond, VA. He was the eldest brother of Connie Foster and the late Frank Baker, Robert Baker and Betty Smith.

He began his career with Seaboard Coastline Railroad in Richmond and was transferred to Jacksonville in 1969, ultimately ending his career with Bank of America.

Ron served many years as a Deacon and Sunday School Leader at First Baptist Church Jax and will be remembered for his fun-loving, caring personality and his ability to love and encourage everyone he met. He will be missed by many.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce, his son, Mike Baker, and daughter, Dee Reichard (Bryan); his grandchild, Matthew Reichard, and great granddaughters, Milena Reichard and Rylo Reichard; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Edward will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, followed immediately by a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or First Baptist Church Jax, 125 W. Ashley Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202.
