Edna Yvonne Pittman

Edna Yvonne Pittman, age 87, passed into eternity on April 1, 2022. Yvonne was born December 13, 1934 to Edna and Rupert Gladden in the community of Hart Haven, Duval County, FL. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee Senior High School. Yvonne was married to Leon Pittman on October 24, 1953. Yvonne loved Jesus, family and art. She was an executive secretary at Winn-Dixie and A&P. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She was also a Tiara Glass representative and a member of the Decorative Artists of Jacksonville. Art was Yvonne’s passion. She taught art during the summer to children at her church and traveled all over the country teaching art. She had several published articles. In her own words, “bringing new ideas and creations to life so that they can be shared by others”.

Yvonne also adored and loved her family. Yvonne was a true Christian in word and deed. She was a member of Hart Haven Baptist Church since childhood, when her parents, family and friends in the community were founding members of the church.

Yvonne is predeceased by her husband, Leon Pittman, daughters Mary Elizabeth Pittman and Lynn Pittman Wilder; her granddaughter Amanda Whitson Hanlon, her parents, Rupert and Edna Gladden; her Mother and Father in law Clarence & Bernice Pittman, her brother Steve Gladden, Sister in law Mickey Gladden, Brother in law Eddie Pittman and wife Virginia Pittman; her brother in law Carroll Pittman and wife Carolyn Pittman; brother in law Johnny Wilsher.

Yvonne is survived by her sons Robert Pittman (Cindi), Gerald Pittman (Wanda), grandchildren Jesse Pittman, Amy Corrales (Angel), Anna Pittman, Justin Pittman, Joshua Pittman, Sarah Yvonne Wilder; great-grandchildren Aubrey Pittman, Paxton Pittman, Tristen Pittman, Rhiannon Hanlon, Gabriel Corrales, Dahlia Corrales, Oliver Corrales, June Pittman, Ruby Pittman, Vera Theobald, Alexander Theobald. She also survived by her brothers Wayne Gladden (Agnes) and Dale Gladden; her sisters Jean Glorious (Larry), Joy Sale (Bruce), Betty Andrews (Andy); Sisters in law Lorree Wilsher, Jan Pittman, Janice Gladden and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be a visitation Tuesday, April 5th from 4:00-7:00 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home 7242 Normandy Blvd. Funeral services are Wednesday, April 6th at 11:00 am at Hart Haven Baptist Church, 47 Jim Wright Road, Jacksonville FL 32254
