Bobbie was born in Wytheville, Virginia, on November 30, 1938, to John and Earnestine Shown. She went to Wytheville High School where she met and later married Albert Frank Collins in July of 1960. Bobbie was a dedicated wife to her Naval veteran husband of 47 years and held a full time job raising her three children: Albert, Lisa and Patricia. She was also instrumental in caring for her grandchildren.
She loved to travel and her husband’s Naval career allowed her to live in Guatanamo Bay, Cuba, and Keflavik, Iceland. They returned to the United States where they retired in Jacksonville. Bobbie enjoyed softball, reading and was an accomplished ceramic maker. She was also a lover of dogs, Duke and Lobo, and had a personal relationship with Christ and was not ashamed to share her faith with you. Her personality was very outgoing and eccentric. She knew a little about any subject to engage herself in conversation and was full of candidness and life. If you knew Bobbie then you knew her to have a variety of interest in anything related to John Wayne, Oakland Raiders, Marines, wolves, Russia and John F. Kennedy.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her three children; Albert (Dana) Collins, Lisa (Jessie) Brown, and Patricia (Tommy) Swindle; and her five grandchildren, Jimmy Brown, Cameron (Kameshia) Collins, Connor (Kate) Collins, Chloe Collins and Carson Collins.
