Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Jean Wilson Thornell, 83, will be Thursday, February 24, 2011, 10:00 AM, at Harvest Baptist Church, 1051 Arlington Rd. with the Rev. Wilford McCormick officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens. Mrs. Thornell's family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. www.hardage-giddenschapelhills.com . Thornell was a longtime resident of Jacksonville for over forty years. She passed away Monday, February 21, 2011, at Community Hospice in Mandarin. Mrs. Thornell was born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 18, 1928. She married John H. Thornell, her loving husband of 47 years, in 1963 before moving to Jacksonville the same year. Mrs. Thornell lived her life as a demonstration of God's faith, hope and love. She was always giving, always loving and always sharing of her faith in Jesus. Mrs. Thornell was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Arthur Wilson, Sr., and her brother Lee Arthur (Mickey) Wilson, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee. Mrs. Thornell is survived by her daughters, Linda Carol Rabideau and her husband Stephen Rabideau; Patricia Ann Burns and her husband Ed S. Burns; five grandchildren, Todd Rabideau, Crystal Burns Walls and her husband Christopher R. Walls, Sr; Renee Rabideau Mantia and her husband, David Mantia; Mac S. Burns and his wife, Kelley Bullard Burns; and Jay Rabideau; four great-grandchildren, Caitlin Dianne Walls, Christopher R. Walls, Jr., Joshua Daniel Mantia and Cuyler Espn Walls.
