Dwight was a wonderful husband, father, friend, and veterinarian who will be missed by everyone who knew him. He married Nancy McLuckie in Columbia, Missouri, on August 10, 1974. A proud Mizzou fan, he graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1977 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He spent 47 years serving Jacksonville, Florida, as a small animal veterinarian - 25 as owner of San Jose Beauclerc Animal Hospital. He was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in October 2016, just after retiring. Even amid cancer treatments, he played golf every Tuesday without fail in his retirement years and always enjoyed Taco Night with friends. Dwight had a passion for travel and seeing the world, which he passed on to his daughters and their families.
Dwight had two children, Katie (Mason Evans) and Emily (Ricky Taylor). He enjoyed three lively grandchildren, Luke, Chloe, and Clara Evans.
Visitation and a memorial service will be at Lakewood Church (San Jose Blvd) on December 17, 2024, at 9:30 and 10:30 am, respectively.
